รู้จักโปรแกรม Web Server

การใช้งานบริการต่างๆ บนระบบอินเทอร์เน็ต ปกติผู้ใช้งานจะเข้าใช้งานโดยการป้อนที่อยู่เว็บไซต์หรือ URL (Uniform Resource Locator) ที่ต้องการผ่านทางโปรแกรมเว็บเบราเซอร์ โดยเครื่องแม่ข่ายที่ให้บริการเว็บไซต์จะเรียกว่า เว็บเซิร์ฟเวอร์ (Web Server)

ชนิดของโปรแกรม Web Server 
โปรแกรม Web Server สามารถแบ่งได้สองกลุ่มใหญ่ๆ ดังนี้
⇒ 1. Stand Alone Web Server เป็นโปรแกรมเว็บเซิร์ฟเวอร์แบบเดี่ยวๆ ผู้ดูแลระบบต้องทำการติดตั้งโปรแกรมแปลภาษา โปรแกรมฐานบ้อมูลและโปรแกรมจำการฐานข้อมูลภายหลัง ตัวอย่างโปรแกรมลักษณะนี้ เช่น

• Apache HTTP Server (https://httpd.apache.org)

• Apache Tomcat (https://tomcat.apache.org)
An open source software implementation of the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies

• Microsoft IIS (https://www.iis.net)

A high performance free open source web server powering busiest sites on the Internet.

• lighttpd (https://www.lighttpd.net)
A secure, fast, compliant, and very flexible web-server that has been optimized for high-performance environments.

• LiteSpeed (https://www.litespeedtech.com)
LiteSpeed Web Server (LSWS) is a high-performance Apache drop-in replacement.

• Cherokee (http://cherokee-project.com)
High-performance web server
Cherokee is an innovative, feature rich, lightning fast and easy to configure open source web server designed for the next generation of highly concurrent secured web applications.

• Eclipse Jetty (http://www.eclipse.org/jetty/)
Eclipse Jetty provides a Web server and javax.servlet container, plus support for HTTP/2, WebSocket, OSGi, JMX, JNDI, JAAS and many other integrations. These components are open source and available for commercial use and distribution.

• Hiawatha (https://www.hiawatha-webserver.org)
Hiawatha has been written with security in mind. This resulted in a highly secure webserver in both code and features. Hiawatha can stop SQL injections, XSS and CSRF attacks and exploit attempts. Via a specially crafted monitoring tool, you can keep track of all your webservers.

• Caddy (https://caddyserver.com)
Caddy 2 is a powerful, enterprise-ready, open source web server with automatic HTTPS written in Go

• Node.js (https://nodejs.org)
Node.js is an open source server environment. Node.js allows you to run JavaScript on the server.

• SimpleHTTPServer (https://pypi.org/project/simple-http-server/)
A simple despatcher server written by python

⇒  2. Package Web Server เป็นโปรแกรมที่รวมโปรแกรมหลายตัวเข้าด้วยกับแบบแพ็กเกจ อาทิ Apache, PHP, PERL, MySQL, phpMyAdmin เป็นต้น หลังการติดตั้งสามารถเปิดใช้งานได้ทันที ตัวอย่างโปรแกรมลักษณะนี้ เช่น

• XAMPP (https://www.apachefriends.org) XAMPP is a free and open-source cross-platform web server that is primarily used when locally developing web applications.

• WAMPServer (http://www.wampserver.com)

• AppServ (https://www.appserv.org)
AppServ is a full-featured of Apache, MySQL, PHP, phpMyAdmin

• AMPPS (https://www.ampps.com)

• MAPP (https://www.mamp.info) สำหรับติดตั้งบนระบบ macOS
MAMP is the abbreviation for Macintosh, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. It is a reliable application with its four components that allows you to access the local PHP server as well as the database server (SQL).

• WinNMP (https://winnmp.wtriple.com)

• WPN-XM (https://wpn-xm.org)
WPИ-XM is an open source web server solution stack for professional PHP development on the Windows platform.

• WEMP (http://wemp.sourceforge.net)
WEMP will install Ningx, PHP5 and MySQL on your Windows system. WEMP is a new project, so it is in testing. WEMP is a package of Ningx, PHP5 and MySQL, so their is no source code here. Source code may be found on the Ningx, PHP and MySQL websites.

• Winginx (https://winginx.com)
Winginx is a complex of local web server on Windows to develop in PHP and Node.js using databases MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, memcached.

• NMP-Server (https://nmpserver.sourceforge.io)
NMP-Server is the name of a super-fast and portable web server that aims to run or kill MySQL, PHP, Nginx servers.

• Wnmp (https://wnmp.x64architecture.com)
Wnmp (pronounced “W-n-m-p”) is an open source development environment consisting of a control panel, Nginx, MariaDB, and PHP for Windows. Wnmp was created with a goal to be as simple as possible, while having a powerful Graphical User Interface.

สรุป
ในการเลือกโปรแกรมเว็บเซิร์ฟเวอร์ในสถานการณ์จริงหากต้องการตั้งเซิร์ฟเวอร์บริการจริงที่องค์กร หรือติดตั้งบริการให้ลูกค้า แนะนำให้ใช้เว็บเซิร์ฟเวอร์ประเภท  Stand Alone Web Server   มีโปรแกรมเว็บเซิร์ฟเวอร์ที่นิยมใช้งานในปัจจุบันมี 3 โปรแกรม คือ Apache, IIS, NGNIX, Tomcat และ Node.js (ผู้ใช้ต้องติดตั้งตัวแปลภาษาและโปรแกรมฐานข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม)  สำหรับ Package Web Server เหมาะสำหรับนักเรียน นักศึกษา ครู อาจารย์ หรือผู้ที่ต้องการทดสอบเขียนสคริปต์ด้วยภาษาต่างๆ  อาทิ PHP, PERL, PYTHON, NodeJS หรือระบบสร้างเว็บหรือแอพลิเคชั่นสำเร็จรูป อาทิ CMS, LMS, CRM, ERP, BLOG, WIKI  ไม่แนะนำให้นำมาติดตั้งใช้งานจริงเนื่องจากไฟล์ติดตั้งภายในส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นไฟล์ติดตั้งพื้นฐานที่มีขนาดเล็ก
